The Lightspeed 25 appears well-constructed, and online info does not give some of the more useful details. I haven't hiked with it yet, but plan to later this month. The hydration system, provided by Sigg (also Swiss like Mammut) and will best fit a Nalgene 32oz canteen and drink tube, which are readily obtained from REI or other USA gear sources. (The 32oz canteen actually holds 42oz of liquid.) Sigg's intended use of the bladder pocket is to suspend a rigid bottle upright, up against the back inside the pack, drinking from a straw-to-tube.
Despite its lack of a framesheet or traditional back panel, this pack has a padded, wicking center panel that runs from the tailbone up to the shoulder blades, and is about 5" wide. The weight advantage of the pack is maintained with some cushioning with this feature.
This pack will work for day climbs + short ultralight trips of 2-4 days. I have customized it by sewing in a D-ring at the center top inside to suspend a 4L dromedary for full-on day climbs on Colorado's fourteeners. It's absolutely worth the $62 REI is asking until it is closed out.
