The Mammut New Age Jacket is one of the first soft shells I've tried on and actually liked. The fit is VERY athletic...I'm about 5'8" and around 135 and I bought a medium. It fits me very snugly and I can't wear anymore than two shirts underneath (I've tried wearing a sweater but it's waaaaay too tight). The Schoeller fabric is pretty abrasion resistant and the only scratches on my jacket are due to my cat...grrrrr.

Anyways, this jacket is probably perfect to wear for ice climbing, but it probably wouldn't stand a chance in a full downpour. But other than that, it's the only soft shell in my closet.
