Summary
Even with the high price this is the only jacket to have. I have used it all winter in Eastern Oregon as well as in the Wind River Ranger and when combined with a wool layering system is waterproof and is the cat's meow for all bad weather at any altitude below 14 or so.
Pros
- As with all Mammut products it is strong
- Wind and water proof
- Comfortable
- Built for upper body movement
Cons
- Color, need a bright red or orange for Search and Rescue
When combined with a wool sweater I have used this jacket while climbing some local mountains at 10°F, as well as on a snowmobile. It preformed very well and is cut for use of the upper body. I would like to see a bright red color for use climbing and Search and Rescue, but am satisfied with what I have.
