Marmot Chilkat Jacket

This has been the best winter jacket I've owned. I've used mine for 60+ days snowboarding this year in all conditions: -5 to 55 degrees, bluebird to whiteout, backcountry to chairlift. It has handled everything better than expected.

It definitely does better in cold vs. warm weather. Breathability is not as good as the water repellancy. Kudos to Marmot for the removable hood. That is unfortunately a rare jacket component. Also, the hood fits over snowboarding, climbing, AND cycling helmets! Woo hoo!

I definitely would not use this jacket for summer backpacking, but I've never been as pleased with a winter jacket. This thing loves the snow (and it's seen plenty this season). Hand warmer pockets can be hard to get into while wearing a pack (hip belt over them). However, that's the only negative thing I can think to say about this jacket.
