As an alpine climbing pack, it performs pretty well. The frame sheet and stays are a bit tall, so looking up with a helmet on can be a bit of an issue. It carries very well with overnight gear and climbing gear. The suspension is light but sufficient. The pack body fabric seems durable, but the mesh pockets on the hip belt didn't last one trip. The pockets are a good idea, but soft mesh fabrics simply cannot stand up to bushwhacking.

The Eiger 65 has a lot of nice little details - even some improvements over what I assume used to be the Dana Bridger. But the ice tool keepers are simply string with a toggle. They wouldn't work at all for any of my tools, so I had to improvise.
