User Review: Marmot Pinnacle DryLoft

Rating: rated 5 of 5 stars
Design: mummy
Fill: 800 fill down (some bags downgraded to 775)
Temperature Rating: 15-25
Weight: 2 lbs. 5 oz.
Price Paid: $360 (on sale)

I could live in this bag. Marmot has redesigned the Pinnacle - whereas it used to be a wide-cut mummy bag, it now has a narrower profile, and is stuffed with 800 loft down. Marmot downgraded some of its bags to 775 loft (talk about integrity!), but I doubt the extra 25 makes much difference). I lucked out and got one of the 800 loft ones from AAI in Bellingham.

Supposedly, the Dryloft shell knocks the temp rating down another 5-10 degrees (or have I been brainwashed by the folks at Feathered Friends?), though it doesn't stuff quite as small. It comes with all the gadgets - draft collar, draft tube stiffener, trapezoidal everything... but the best thing about this bag is that it is the MOST comfortable bag I have ever slept in. The inner nylon shell is like satin - sometimes at home I throw my blankets on the floor and crawl inside for an afternoon nap (much to the curiosity of my roommate).
