When I first bought this coat, I assumed that because of its flyweight I would have to layer my fleece jacket underneath when it is cold. That has not been the case. This jacket stands up to winds even with just short sleeves underneath, and it stuffs easily into my small locker at work. I have also stuffed it easily into a pack. It's a perfect jacket for light-to moderate outdoor activities, but would probably be too warm for backpacking, snowshoeing or skiing. As for an around-town coat though, it can't be beat.
