Rating: rated 5 of 5 stars
Fabric: nylon/gore-tex
Price Paid: $249

Bought this at to replace my TNF Mountain Guide Jacket which I literally wore till it fell apart.

Well-fitting jacket with all the pluses you'd expect for a top of the line shell. Plenty of inner pockets, plus two deep hand pockets. Very light weight. Just tested the waterproofing in a Chicago downpour. No worries here. Lots of adjustments to the hood. Would like to have a snow skirt (like my Mountain Guide) but not a deal breaker.

The Marmot Selkirk jacket holds up to the rigors of mountaineering by offering crocodile-hide toughness and lightweight weather protection. Abrasion-resistant, 3-layer Gore-Tex® nylon fabric provides waterproof, windproof protection with minimum weight. DriClime® panels are welded inside the jacket at shoulders and back for additional warmth. Microstitching and seam-taped construction offer durable and complete protection. 2-way adjustable front zipper features both inner and outer stormflaps. Hood adjustments and wired brim tailor the fit for coverage that not only keeps your head dry but also allows good peripheral vision. Collar zips up to provide face coverage in stormy conditions; chin guard is soft against skin. Pit zippers allow adjustable ventilation. Drawcord hem and adjustable rip-and-stick cuffs hold in warmth. 2 hand pockets are placed so they won't interfere with pack straps; also features internal stretch mesh and zippered stash pocket. Angel-Wing Movement® sleeves allow unrestricted range of motion. Selkirk is designed for easy laying over a fleece or a soft shell. Closeout.
