This is a cool little crag pack made from tough material. The design is especially for climbing: it rides high on your back to stay out of the way of a harness, and has a chest strap to keep it snug to the body. There is a good haul loop on the top.
It's a top loading pack with one zippered pocked on the outside... big enough to fit a guide book, some power bars etc. Although you can't put a lot of stuff into it, there is enough room for basic day necessities: a light fleece nand light shell, lunch and water.
As for function, I usually forget that it's on. Even if I'm sporting a full rack and a dozen shoulder length slings. It simply doesn't get in the way. However, I have NOT used it in a chimney yet... although because the material is rough to the touch I assume it would work well.
Also packs well into a larger pack.
Great function for the price.
