User Review: MEC Phoenix Jacket

Rating: rated 5 of 5 stars
Fabric: Nylon
Price Paid: $380 cdn.

- Full-length pit zips.

- 2 ply Gore-Tex on body and arms and 3-ply shoulders and hood

- 2 inside chest pockets

- 2 outside pockets

- detachable hood

Best jacket I have ever owned. Breathes well -- and waterproof as far as I can tell given working in Vancouver and skiing at Whistler. Lightweight. Best hood I have seen on a jacket: very adjustable and convenient to flip on and off. Hood does not balloon-off into the wind. Only negative: outside pockets are high-up with vertical zippers, and resulting space cannot be used for warming hands.

Like almost everything Mountain Equipment Coop sells - top quality and good value.
