About 20 years ago I bought an MEI Trekker for a year-long trip across Europe. This was the only bag which I brought with me, and it was adequate to live out of no matter whether I was on a month-long journey across the Pyrenees Mountains or using the day pack for shorter excursions. Three years ago I went to France for a year on an exchange program. I knew I'd want to travel a lot while there, on day, weekend, and week-long trips, primarily by train. I did some in-depth research on convertible travel packs and tried many out. Luckily I lived near one of the very few locations that sell this pack in store, so I was able to try it on. The manager told me that they are all assembled by hand in a shop in Fresno, and they don't have the production capacity to sell at more locations. Full review
