These boots are intended for 3/4 season use and will accept a strap on crampon. They have a Vibram sole which is pretty stiff and exceptionally grippy on almost any surface except slippery, wet mud.

Breaking in period is abominable and I spent a couple of hours just sitting down and working the leather around the heel area with my hands to try and get them to "soften up" a little bit. If I had not done this my heels were going to come off on my next walk.

Excellent waterproof qualities.

All in all, an excellent 3/4 season boot considering the price.
