Mountain Hardwear Chillwave Parka

rated 5 of 5 stars
photo: Mountain Hardwear Chillwave Parka down insulated jacket

Warm, durable, fits great, layers over well.

Pros

  • So warm
  • So comfortable
  • So durable
  • So multifunctional
  • Packs down small
  • Lots of storage

Cons

  • I wish the pockets were a bit deeper
  • The outside breast pocket is a bit small

This is great for super cold days, winter camping was easy and comfortable in this thing. The fabric is nice and strong, dries quickly, cleans easily.

Sometimes I curl up in this to take naps, it's just so cozy.

The $400 price tag was worth it.

This full-on winter warmer is insulated with 700-fill goose down and features baffle construction for down loft and warmth on very cold-weather trips.

The Chillwave Parka is made from wind-resistant and breathable two-layer nylon ripstop with Mountain Hardwear’s BodyAirShield windproof and breathable technology. Reinforced abrasion panels provide durability at high-wear spots.

The parka has hem drawcords and a detachable insulated hood that can be adjusted with one hand. It weighs 2 pounds 6 ounces (1.08 kg).

The 700-fill Chillwave Parka has a longer cut (center back length of 31 inches) than the similar 650-fill Chillwave Jacket.
