I have worn these pants on Mt. Shasta and other Cascade volcanoes during the winter. They are warm. Too warm for mild winter conditions when you are moving. However, they have leg zippers you can open up to vent. This was really good when stopped. These are warm and pretty windproof. If you want more warmth and wind resistance just put on a shell. Great for winter. Light and rugged pants with great features. A perfect backup in case of bad weather.
