From Backcountry.com:
"The Mountain Hardwear Men's Epic is a waterproof, breathable Pant for use on cool weather hikes or as an extra layer under your ski pants. The Epic Pant has stretchy, articulated knees designed to trail your every move making them great for fast-paced activities. Mountain Hardwear added side vents to the Epic to help keep you cool on high-energy days. The Epic has a comfortable elastic waistband and a built in adjustable belt making them easy to get on and off and it keeps them from sliding down revealing your backcountry crevasse. The light weight, packable Epic Pants are versatile enough to take almost anywhere."
From Altrec Outdoors:
"In place of all the bells and whistles one usually finds on waterproof ski pants, the Mountain Hardware Men's Epic Pant is built for one simple reason, to provide protection on go-light, go-fast backcountry trips. Multiple pockets, side zips, and belt loops are not found on the Epic Pant, but the Conduit Silk coating provides an all important waterproof barrier that breathes and feels smooth and dry against bare skin or a base layer. Articulated knees keep you striding in comfort as you push on through rain, snow, or sleet to reach your next camp."
From RockCreek:
"The Epic Pant by Mountain Hardwear is a fully waterproof and incredibly breathable rain pant made with Conduit technology. The Conduit membrane contains a mixture of "water loving" and "water resistant" materials that pull water vapor through the barrier but keeps liquid water from penetrating the exterior. This breathability prevents moisture vapor from condensing, allowing you to stay dry and comfortable. The Epic Pant is also superlight with a 9" ankle zip for easier on and off and laminated cuffs with hook and loop closure."

Men's Epic Pant

At first, I was a bit weary with the build quality because it is very thin and very light, but trust me, do not worry about this because I took the combination skiing with me as my outermost layer and it did excellent, even though I had a couple big tumbles (let's face it, who doesn't)."
