I bought these pants thinking that they would be awesome.

Rating: rated 3 of 5 stars
Fabric: "Crag Canvas"

I bought these pants thinking that they would be awesome. I must say i was a little disappointed. They aren't as flexible as a pair of Prana pants I have. They are not as durable as I would like. On a recent bouldering trip I was topping out and I slightly drug the pants across the rock and it ripped some hole near the knee area.

One plus is that they are very comfortable. If you're looking for a tough pair of climbing pants I would look elsewhere. But if you're looking for a pair of pants that are lightweight and can take some moderate climbing and still be worn around town these are the pants for you.

Rather than it's name suggests, Mountain Hardwear's Runout Pant is not meant for merely a quick jaunt to the corner market. Burly cotton canvas can stand up any abuse you care to throw at it out on the trail or during your at-home construction projects, and with five pockets to stow things in, you're not lacking utility.

The Runout Pant by Mountain Hardwear is the ultimate in providing a super durable, comfortable pair of pants when climbing at your favorite crag. Made with MHW's Crag Canvas you get a heavy duty cotton canvas climbing pant that "breaks in" easily with time and washing. Designed with a low profile waist making it comfy when wearing a harness and strategic pockets allow you to use them while sitting on a belay or hiking to the next climb. The cuffs have an adjustable drawcord making it easier to see your feet and adjust them with ease. A great pair of pants for your next trip up that gnarly offwidth or Joshua Tree crack.
