Mountain Hardwear South Col 70 OutDry Waterproof Backpack - The South Col 70 OutDry Waterproof Backpack by Mountain Hardwear is designed to be the one-pack solution for mountaineering expeditions on the world's highest peaks. The flexible design and highly evolved compression system lets you add and remove components as well as shrink and expand the pack as needed. OutDry construction bonds a durable waterproof membrane to the main compartment so that your gear stays safe and dry in even the wettest conditions. Unlike other waterproof systems that allow water to pool in between the membrane and shell, OutDry technology bonds a durable waterproof membrane directly to the shell fabric for a completely sealed interface. Your pack stays light and dry without compromising weight or function. The HardWave suspension conforms comfortably to the curve of your back and distributes weight evenly but is also removable for carrying light loads. Multiple lash points and long compression webbing allow for overloads while effectively reducing volume as needed to keep any size load stable. The large zippered front pocket allows storage of frequently needed items or tools and maintains volume even when the main compartment is full. Easy access crampon stash pocket and an intuitive, easy to secure and adjust ice-ax/ tool carry system with a pass-through sleeve keep you ice gear at the ready. A removable padded waist belt, with gear loops, adds stability and you can swap the padded waist belt for a webbing belt (included) when carrying lighter loads. The South Col 70 has great load transfer through an aluminum perimeter stay that locks into the hipbelt while allowing slight pivoting. An additional removable horizontal stay in the lower pack creates a more rigid frame for more efficient load transfer so that you can carry heavy loads comfortably. Keep your gear dry and comfortably haul heavy loads on big peaks with the Mountain Hardwear South Col 70 OutDry Waterproof Backpack.
