I would echo all of these reviews. This is the best piece of three- season gear I own!

Pros

  • Windproof
  • Warm without the weight
  • Packable and light
  • Very breathable and layers wonderfully

Cons

  • Not currently available

I would echo all of these reviews. This is the best piece of three-season gear I own. Its weight and performance are unmatched by anything else.

The only thing it lacks is that it's not waterproof, but pair with a light rain jacket and a short sleeve technical t-shirt and you can be prepared on the trail for almost anything from 40-80 degrees rain or shine. Paired with a long sleeve baselayer and a vest and you will be good into the 30s as long as you are active. It's not really dumping snow but even light dry snow is no problem.

I desperately wish Mountain Hardwear would reintroduce this just as it was originally with maybe just the addition of a left hand pocket or large rear stash pocket to hold that light rain jacket I mentioned. My garment is now about 10 years old and doing pretty well except for a few pulls and scratched and pinhead sized burn holes form camp fires.

I just wish I could own one or two more of these with one in a higher visibility orange or yellow for night and hunting season adventures.

Stretchy, snug fit, that blocks wind.

Pros

  • Stretchy
  • Good wind block
  • Durable
  • Breathable

Cons

  • Too short
  • Scratchy when next to skin and too snug for more than a thin layer

I really like this jacket. It's my go-to for skinning up trails when I'm working up a sweat, but the wind is too much to go in just a long sleeve shirt. I often throw on another jacket when it is time to go down.

The durability and stretchability is great and with that it is becoming a go-to for windier climbing days since my other wind jacket leaves me sopping wet when I start to sweat (that'll be another review). I wish it was a little looser fitting so I could fit a long sleeve and a thin fleece underneath more comfortable. Sometimes I like a little more insulation under my wind layer that just a long sleeve. I have pretty sensitive skin and don't like the feeling of this jacket with out at least a t-shirt on underneath.

I also wish the jacket was a little longer. I have an average to shorter torso and feel like when I wear my ski pants around my hips that my jacket is always riding up my back and inviting the snow in. A little longer would be nice. 5'4" 115lbs. Average to short torso. Sleeves are a good length. Have it in a small

I am so disappointed that Mountain Hardwear no longer makes this product. Mine is like 10 years old or maybe more and really needs to be replaced. This is truly one of the best pieces of outdoor gear I have ever owned. It is great for mountaineering, skiing, mountain biking, and winter hiking.

Pros

  • It is an excellent spring, fall, and winter garment that can be used with other layers.

Cons

  • It is no longer available.

This is the best garment for repelling wind, especially during the spring and fall, when it is hard to know what to wear. It is great with other layers in winter.

I have had mine for something like 10 plus years and will probably have it longer since it is no longer available. It is breathable and has stood up to many years of washing. While I now have pilling, it has not affected the performance.

Background

I have used this product for many years during many activities.

Source: I bought it in a store, where it was obviously a return, given it smelled of body order. After washing it, it was good as new.

Please, please, please Mtn Hardwear reintroduce this windshirt into your product line. This is the best piece of clothing gear I have EVER owned. If they were still manufactured, I would probably buy three of them.

Pros

  • Lightweight
  • Simple
  • Warm
  • DURABLE

Cons

  • NONE

Please Mtn Hardwear, fire up the machine and crank these out again. Props to the Peeps that manufactured and designed this. It was MADE IN THE USA!!!!!!!!!!

I have worn this shirt for over 3 years of outdoor activities. I have used it for running in 30 degree temps to hiking to the top of a 14,000 foot peak. I love being able to pack one base layer shirt for my hiking trips.

Price Paid: $116

Great shirt. Has anyone found anything close?

I see all the reviews that people loved this shirt including me. Has anyone found a product they like almost as much?
