rated 5 of 5 stars As a person who deals with climbing ropes on a near-daily basis, I find New England Ropes to be the best on the market. The Maxim KM III is an example of a quality, static rope and is my choice in situations that do not warrant a dynamic rope. rated 4 of 5 stars After a year of weekend climbing I still like this rope. I didn't expect a lot from a rope in this price range, yet I was pleasantly surprised.  The rope, after a year of weekend sport climbing during nice weather, shows very few signs of wear; one broken strand in the whole rope.  I saw a lot of other climbers using this rope right after I bought it so evidently I was not the only one who jumped on the clearance deal at REI. Apogee 9.1 mm

rated 5 of 5 stars This is the nicest climbing rope I have ever used. It is very thin and lightwieght, but it still holds 5 UIAA falls. It is a dry rope, which makes this rope, coupled with its light weight, ideal for alpine routes where you will encounter glaciers, rock, and ice. I have used it a couple of times already, on some short sport and trad routes( 1/2 to a full pitch) and you don't even feel it pulling throught the gear.
