Not the best hiking boots in the world, but they are easy to break in and keep your feet relatively comfortable... That is until they start falling apart on you.

Until a few weeks ago I would probably raved about my Nike ACG Air Umara Hiking Boots as a low end option for decent hiking boots and given them 3.5 or 4 stars out of the available 5 stars.  That was of course before I went out on a 7-mile day hike and the sole seperated from the upper.

Fit: Not too much to complain about here. They fit my feet fairly well; I have fairly wide feet and normally wear a 9.5, but usually move up to a 10 for hiking boots.

Comfort: Nothing really to complain about here either, though during the summer they would get hot.

Water Resistance: They would keep my feet dry while unless they became soaked. Then my feet would be just as wet.

Traction: Probably their strong suit. Nice deep treads that rarely ever lost their grip, even on wet surfaces.  I would expect this from a Tennis Shoe company though.

Temp Control: I had to wear extra socks in the winter and my feet would get hot at times in the summer, but overall not too awful.

Ease of Use: They got me from here to there.

Features: I felt that the sole was fairly comfortable and it was easy to walk long distances in them without feeling the aches it your feet.

Construction & Durability: The major flaw of these boots. They lasted about 2 years (a good set of boots usually will last me closer to 5-8 years) until the sole seperated from the upper 4 miles into a 7 mile hike. By the end of the hike the shoe was destroyed and my knee was aching from limping for 3 miles. I don't know what I would have done if I was in the middle of a 2 or 3 day hike.

Conditions: I used them for about 2 years through all types of weather. Usually when it's snowy (fairly rare in St. Louis) or when I go hiking.  I'm pretty easy going on my shoes for the most part.
