Nike Air Equa

rated 2.0 of 5 stars

The Air Equa has been discontinued. If you're looking for something new, check out the best trail shoes for 2024.

These boots are very light like a running shoe. The soles inserts are not removable. I have found these to be particularly comfortable, but a bit spongy feeling when walking. The fit is a bit snug for regular feet.

I have hiked these on two very strenuous outings in the Ventana Wilderness. And the shoes performed well except for the following areas.

o The round nylon shoe laces untie themselver very easily.

o The stitching is already starting to blow out. This is very bad and earns the automatic UNACCEPTABLE rating.

o The Nike tread is very stable on dry and wet ground. It is very unstable on slippery rocks where Vibram soles are stable. Again an UNACCEPTABLE rating.

When buying a boot, you can find others that are similarly priced and offer durability, and stability.

Wynn says, stay away from this boot, and any other Nike product that has a similar tread.
