Nike Air Kolob

rated 2.5 of 5 stars

The Air Kolob has been discontinued. If you're looking for something new, check out the best trail shoes for 2024.

Version reviewed: men's

For hikers, these performed fairly well. The traction seems to wear away fairly soon (I've only had them for about 5 months, and have mostly used them for walking), and wet traction is poor, at least on artificial surfaces. Body of shoe still holding out pretty well, though. Obviously not waterproof, these hikers are most comfortable in dry, hot areas, like desert country.

Materials: Leather, with some mesh areas.
Use: Variable Trails (walking to moderately steep hiking)
Break-in Period: Several days
Price Paid: $90

I have had my Kolobs for six months and have discovered that the metal plate in the sole of the shoe is coming apart from the rest of the shoe. The shoe is a very comfortable shoe with very nice styling but the sole is self-destructing and on that note am very unsatisfied with the Air Kolob.

Materials: leather/fabric
Use: lite hiking
Break-in Period: two days
Weight: ?
Price Paid: $90
