Use: Trail running on dry, dusty, rocky terrain, mowing the lawn

Buying Nike is such a fickle thing these days. Like so many people, I loved the original Air Steens from a couple years ago. Since then, it seems that there has been flop after flop. This shoe is a fine example. I thought it would be an improvement on the Steens and just be a lighter shoe. No. The Cascade fits terribly. I've tried to make it work and not sure if I can now even stand to wear it while I mow the lawn. Recently I've even worn it on a couple of local 5 mile trail races and each time my feet are numb by the end of the race.
Here's what other sites are saying:
Made for the most demanding, arid runs and races, these high-octane trail-runners offer an exceptionally lightweight profile and Zoom Air protection. Split-grain leather/nylon uppers with nylon webbing and rubber overlays create a durable, comfortable and breathable environment for your feet. Synthetic lining dries fast and helps wick moisture away from feet; variable eyelets allow custom lacing for improved support. Full-length Phylon™ midsoles with encapsulated Zoom Air units in heel and forefeet offer ample cushioning and shock absorption. Dual-density Phylon midsoles on medial side for extra support and pronation control; midfoot shanks control torsional rigidity and support feet. All-Trac trail outsoles with waffle-style lugs provide reliable traction on a variety of surfaces.
