Nike Clima-FIT Lite Jacket

I spent about an hour checking out different jackets at REI and came away with this one. I'm very satisfied. I wanted a well-ventilated waterproof (not water-resistant) jacket with good ventilation, lightweight, and good protection.

It's got a hood (a little big for me; I could find no women's model), lots of vents, zip pockets with velcro flaps. The main zip is covered with a flap that also closes w/velcro, and it's a two-way zipper. The cuffs close with velcro, too, to keep the rain out.

Finally, the whole thing packs into a tiny fanny pack which is actually part of the jacket.

I wanted to be sure it was waterproof when I got it home so ran it under the sink and voila! It is. I'm finding that there are some basic alternatives to Gore-Tex.
