Rating: rated 3 of 5 stars

Omega's screws are good additions into an ice rack, largely because they won't empty the wallet as quickly. These screws are the not best performing screws on the market, but you pay for what you get. They do come out of the box ready to go, needing no sharpening and are fairly easy to place. Unfortunately, the 'grinder knob' overlaps into the hanger, making clipping or unclipping carabiners difficult, particularly with gloved hands. I would pick more up to help full out my rack, but I would not build an entire rack with these screws.

Here's what other sites are saying:

One of the most popular ice screws on the mountain for one simple reason: it provides the best value and performance of any screw available. Turned and machined from 4130 CRMo steel. Plated with highly corrosion-resistant silver zinc chromate. Speed grinder knob is always accessible; no collapsing, folding, or rigging accessory spinning handles necessary. Soft aluminum knob is designed to shear off in the event of a cross-loading situation. Thread pitch and tooth pattern provide excellent holding power. Weight: 5.7 ounces. Total length: 17 centimeters. Thread length: 10 centimeters.

Save 30%-60% at! Chromoly, nickel-plated shaft resists corrosion; gold-chromate zinc plating on the hanger provides long-lasting corrosion resistance. Eye on hanger is large enough for two carabiners, creating versatile placement options and anchor setups. Overstock. Razor-sharp teeth cut into hard ice with precision and speed; aggressive thread design provides solid hold in cold and brittle ice. Speed Grinder knob creates simple control and is always ready for quick placements no folding levers or cranks to mess around with. Whether you're swinging tools into waterfall ice or setting up a belay on a glacier climb, these screws penetrate ice with ease.
