From Moosejaw:
"FREE OSPREY PACK COVER! For a short time only, purchase any Osprey Backpack over $199, add the super cool Osprey Pack Cover (look to the right to see a photo) to your cart and it's yours for free! The Women's Ariel 60 Pack by Osprey is designed to carry light and go fast in the backcountry. Whether winding your way up an escarpment in the Porcupine Mountains or making a weekend trip to the crag, the Ariel 60 helps you shave the weight. The total suspension weight of only 9.3 ounces belies the carry of these packs. However, we haven't skimped on details or durability. It's just not worth it to save a few ounces. We believe that you'll use far less energy and avoid a great deal of frustration carrying a pack with a real suspension and strong materials. The Ethereal suspension consists of dual-peripheral 3/16in. fiberglass stays. Double hip compressors anchor the struts to a pass-through lumbar hipbelt, while the harness load lifters flex the load snugly against your back. Meanwhile, the 3/4-length framesheet with 1/2in. stay helps support the load and keeps the backpanel curved to your shape and not barreled. The result is a comfortable and tireless carry. The available Isoform Harness and Hipbelt system is made in gender-specific sizes and cuts, these harnesses and hipbelts offer sizing versatility in a simplified and lighter version. The IsoForm harness is laminated dual-density foam for extra comfort and fit. Our tried and tested hook and loop adjustment allows up to 3in. of variance in each torso size. The IsoForm hipbelt is a 3D dual-density foam design anatomically contoured to a variety of shapes and sizes. Dual hip compressors anchor the hipbelt to the rod sleeves, ensuring excellent weight transfer and a comfortable ride. Top pockets on the Aether and Ariel 90 and 75 convert to a versatile fanny pack using the IsoForm hipbelt. The unique cross-compression design allows a stable carry with no bounce. Specifications Small: Volume cu.in./liters: 3500/57. Weight: 3lbs8ozs/1.59 kgs. Medium: Volume cu.in./liters: 3700/60. From Backcountry Outlet:
"The Osprey Ariel 60 is the womens version of the award winning Aether 60. It features the Ethereal suspension, (but without framesheet and stay for weight reduction), womens IsoForm harness, shorter torso sizing and a built-in hipbelt specifically designed to fit the female hip structure."

From REI:
"Featuring a women's harness and shorter torso, this lightweight mountaineering pack carries on the tradition of superb women-specific packs. Top-loading pack shaves weight with its lightweight yet tough 210-denier high-tenacity double-ripstop nylon construction. Reducing weight, the Lightweight Ethereal Suspension has a foam back panel and dual composite struts. Running down the sidewall, the composite struts anchor to load lifters and hipbelt, actively transferring load and resisting sag. Providing superior load support is the women's sewn-in IsoForm hipbelt, a 3D dual-density foam contoured, gender-specific and anatomically shaped. ErgoPull hipbelt closure provides extra leverage in cinching, drawing tension along top and bottom--not through the center--relieving hipbone pressure. Side mesh pockets keep essentials easily accessible, and a built-in front mesh pocket accepts Osprey Excessories for added capacity. StraightJacket compression wings let you securely compress the contents of the pack, whether full or nearly empty, without sag or load distortion. Wings buckle across the front when full; for smaller loads, connect straps to buckles at the edge of the backpanel, cinching one panel over the other. Ski straps, ice axe tool loops, sleeping pad straps, extendable lid and skirt accommodate a variety of alpine gear. Rounding out this full-featured pack is D3 Spacer Mesh on back panel, promoting airflow and wicking moisture during warm weather and intense activity."

From Altrec Outdoors:
"Go backpacking or climbing this weekend and still feel good about it on Monday. Osprey's Ariel 60 backpack is a smaller, female-specific version of the award-winning Aether 75, but it doesn't cut corners on features. It features the same bestselling suspension system found on the larger Ariel 90 and Ariel 75, although now Osprey gives you the option of outfitting your Ariel 60 with a new Bio-Form custom molding hipbelt (sold separately). The suspension has a pair of peripheral fiberglass stays attached to double hip compressors and an anatomically-contoured lumbar hipbelt (the standard hipbelt). The load lifters flex the pack weight toward your back while the center 3/4-length framesheet curves and supports the load, resulting in improved control and more comfort than conventional suspension designs. This pack is fully Osprey Excessories compatible so you can add modular components like a crampon pouch or a shovel pocket depending on your journey. Despite being the smallest pack in the Ariel collection, the 60 is the only one with an extendible lid and skirt to easily adapt to overloading, giving you the freedom to crank the cargo beyond the official capacity specifications."

"First of all, I am 5'1" tall and weigh 110 pounds, so I needed a small, lightweight pack. This fit the bill perfectly. I took it on a hiking trip on the Appalachian Trail for four nights, and it performed well.

Of course, I couldn't have taken it if I wanted to do extended camping."
