User Review: Osprey Ceres 50

Osprey Ceres 50
Above: The current Ceres 50, which may differ slightly from the version reviewed.

Rating: rated 4 of 5 stars
Design: top loading internal frame
Size: 3000 cu in, I think
Max. Load Carried: about 25 lbs
Height of Owner: 5'10"

Excellent pack for winter mountaineering. Has what you need, and nothing you don't. I appreciate the way the "head cup", too.

A few nits (don't be discouraged): 1) I like daisy chains on the outside of every pack, and this one doesn't have them; 2) a little expensive; 3) wouldn't mind the top pocket being slightly roomier; 4) side straps are arranged in a way that does not allow for generic (eg, EMS) side pockets to be attached; 5) attachment mechanism for Osprey accessory pockets (eg crampon pouch) could be a lot smoother and more obvious.
