This is a great pack for day hiking! I would highly recommend the Osprey Sirrus 24!

Pros

  • Nice size for day hikes
  • Adjustable for the perfect fit
  • Several pockets for organization

Cons

  • Zippered pockets on waistband are tiny and difficult to reach
  • Cannot access water without removing the pack or relying on a buddy

I have enjoyed my Sirrus 24 pack for over a year now. It has hiked many miles with me in various terrains and temperatures ranging from 94 degrees in Zion NP, Utah to 27 degrees in the Blue Ridge Mountains of Virginia.

Due to the many adjustment features my pack fits me like a glove. This pack has an awesome design to keep the pack from touching your back so that no matter how hot it is you have a nice airflow that helps keep you comfortable.

I have never had any issues with being unable to carry everything that I need for a day hike. Typically I load all of my clothing layers, hats, gloves, lunch, snacks, two water bottles, separate compartment to keep my sunglasses and phone, another separate compartment for small items such as first aid supplies, tissues, hand sanitizer, etc.

There are straps on the outside to attach my trekking poles when not in use and additional straps for my jacket. I have developed a routine for packing so that I know exactly where every item is located. I love to stay organized on the trail!

It is also a sharp looking design, not cumbersome like other packs I have tried on. Once you start up the mountain you really don't even notice that you have it on. It is really comfortable.

The only negative that I will mention is the fact that the water bottles are difficult to reach. It's really not that big of a deal for me because I always hike with a buddy who can hand me my water and I do the same for him. Note: My hiking partner/hubby has a different brand of pack and he can't reach his water bottles easily either.

The second negative would be the two tiny pockets located on the front of the belt—one on each side of the buckle. They are too small and difficult to zip and unzip. They work for chapstick and a roll of peppermints, but that is about it. It does appear on the newer bag (remember I have had mine over a year) that they have modified the belt pockets, so maybe the newer version is a little better.

My Sirrus 24 is well made and seems to be holding up well. I have the beautiful blue color, which I LOVE. I wondered if the color would show dirt, but it still looks like new and hasn't retained any stains even with all of the wear and tear.

So, yes! This is a great pack! I love mine! Keep in mind this size is perfect for day hikes, but too small for weekends or overnights.

Leave no trace!

I like this pack a lot.

Pros

  • The weight really is carried on my hips and the belts and strap fasteners let me fit it to my body.

Cons

  • My only complaint would be that I would like more individual compartments.

Mostly I have tried NOT to wear a pack because I have back problems. But I needed one for an outdoor trip we were taking and after some research and trying on, I bought this pack. I have not had any back problems with it.

My only complaint would be that I would like more individual compartments. The weight really is carried on my hips and the belts and strap fasteners let me fit it to my body.

Fantastic woman's day pack.

Pros

  • as above

Cons

  • wish it was 36 litres for bigger loads, but same design

Everything with this daypack works! Zippers run smoothly. Hip belt fits. Compression straps are reachable and functional. Small pocket on strap for cell or small item accessible.  esh ventilation system reduces sweating.  mesh pockets on hip belt decent size.  Rain-cover works!

And did I happen to mention that this pack feels like a dream! I have tried many and love that they have made a comfortable woman's day pack. I am sold on Osprey's attention to design and details.
