This jacket is a simple, no frills, no-nonsense goretex…

Rating: rated 5 of 5 stars
Fabric: goretex paclite

This jacket is a simple, no frills, no-nonsense goretex paclite shell. Its front closure is a waterproof zip. There's no storm flap over the zip, but the zip works just as efficiently without one. A basic hood design and velcro cuff adjusters, along with a small, useful L/H chest pocket (also with a waterproof zip) complete the jacket.

My jacket, though a size large, is a wee bit snug, so maybe best to get a size larger than you may normally wear.

Outdoor Research say it's 7.5 oz, but my scales weighed the jacket as 5.5 oz! Bargain!!!

If your an ultra-lightweight gear freak (you know who you are!! Me included!! ha! ha!) then get one.

You'll have waterproof and breathable performance in the weight of a windshell. GORE-TEX Paclite fabric with micro seam allowances lets sweat evaporate while keeping rain and melting snow off your skin.

It’s the result of backcountry trips that demand a choice between risking it in a light wind shell or carrying a needlessly heavy jacket. You won’t have to make that choice at the trailhead anymore, and you can tell your friends you have the lightest Gore-Tex® jacket in the world. Outdoor Research got rid every extraneous feature that would add weight to the Men's Zealot Jacket, making it one of the lightest waterproof-breathable jackets in the world. It weights in at only 7.7oz. Don't let the incredibly low weight fool you. This Outdoor Research jacket is made with waterproof breathable Gore-Tex PacLite fabric and has fully taped seams to assure no moisture makes its way inside. So what does the Zealot have for features? Just a chest pocket, because that's all ounce-counting freaks want. More gizmos just add more weight, so Outdoor Research stripped the Zealot to the bare necessities for hikers and climbers that demand the best.
