Harmony High Volume Sea Kayak Pump

rated 5 of 5 stars This pump is used in our canoe (and sometimes kayak), for those times when we get a bit more water in the boat than a bilge sponge can easily handle! It is inexpensive, but works well without much effort, and quickly removes water from the floor of the canoe. Paddling season is just about here in Vermont, so we are engaged in our annual pre-season gear checks. One little item, that has traveled with us for the past two years, and which is holding up well, with no signs of corrosion or deterioration,… Full review

Surf to Summit Bungee Paddle Leash

rated 4.5 of 5 stars A paddle leash is ESSENTIAL kayak safety gear! Many, if not most, kayakers often overlook getting one, which is a very bad idea. This leash has an excellent good functional design, which is simple to use. -- Writing and gear photos still in progress, please check back soon. -- The leash (for life) ...  Imaging losing a paddle on big water! Imagine losing a boat on big water! I've done both at the same time, in fact in big salt water, with live coral and potential predators present! See the Rabbit… Full review

Scotty Kayak Bilge Pump

rated 4.5 of 5 stars The Scotty Bilge Pump for kayakers is an essential piece of gear with a lifetime warranty. I've used it during safety practice and to splash my friends. My oldest pump is nine years old and still works! I liked my first Scotty Bilge Pump so much that I bought new ones for each of my kayaks. A bilge pump or bailer is required by law in Canada, and this pump is a great way to meet that requirement. This model floats very well and its flotation foam collar has lasted me for years. I use my Scotty pumps… Full review

Intex Double Quick III Hand Pump

rated 4.5 of 5 stars This pump has an easy stroke and fills my inflatable kayaks quickly. It comes with a set of nozzles clipped to the hose, ready to help it fit many kinds of inflatable objects. The first Double Quick III pump I bought is still in use seven years later. This is a very well-made, reliable, and long-lasting air pump. I use it without feeling tired or like it's too much effort. Even so, it fills my inflatable kayaks quickly. I am a small woman who appreciates how this pump makes me feel strong enough… Full review

Malone Stax Pro2 Kayak Carrier

rated 3.5 of 5 stars The Malone Stax Pro2 kayak carrier is a rooftop collapsable single or double kayak tie-down system. It's simple to install and folds down when not in use. It makes transporting kayaks safe for highway speeds and for narrow roofline vehicles. I bought the Stax Pro2 from a local kayak outfitter. It came highly recommended by them, and I found out why. It's a great system to secure kayaks to existing roof racks on your car or SUV. It has high impact ABS plastic clamps which fit over your crossbars… Full review

Harmony Kayak and Canoe Cart

rated 4 of 5 stars This canoe cart has met our needs very well...we use it for a 16'6" canoe, and it can be loaded with all our gear; it is used primarily on a 1/3 mile carry-in, over rough gravel roads. It transports in the car nicely, and we would recommend it to others. We purchased this canoe cart to replace one (Seattle Sports), which we bought from a major online outdoors retailer...the first one was of similar design, but came through with flat tires. We inflated the tires to only half of recommended psi. After… Full review

Duluth Rutstrum Gear Cruiser Pack

rated 4 of 5 stars The Rutstrum Gear Cruiser is a very good portage pack. It's probably more space than you'll ever need. It's huge, easy to adjust to your dimensions, and extremely simple. It's heavy and the size makes it easy to overpack. I find it surprisingly enjoyable for fairly small loads, since the one huge pocket makes it easy to just throw things in and head out. For portaging that's all you really need too. Use the included pack liner and your stuff will stay dry no matter how wet the pack gets. The sternum… Full review

Humminbird 110 Fishin' Buddy

rated 5 of 5 stars Easy to use on any boat. Easy to read and use. Very versatile fish finder, able to be hooked on the edge of most boats without having to permanently mount anything. Can be used on other places other than boats, such as docks, can even be used for ice fishing if you have a way to hold it in the opening. Readout is very nice, can be seen in any light situation and displays depth of water and size of fish using three different icons. I use this with my canoe and it works very well since I didn't have… Full review

Duluth #3 Original Duluth Pack

rated 4.5 of 5 stars For canoe travel, packs and other gear need to easily stow in the canoe. If there are portages, containers that are easily carried are also a requirement. These two needs are well blended into the classic Original Duluth Pack. These simple packs have proven themselves over more than 100 years. Background: At a summer party a number of years ago, I had just returned from another trip into Canada’s Far North. As I waxed poetic on the beauty and mentioned my mode of travel, a friend commented that… Full review
