Scotty No. 135 Portable Camera Mount

rated 5 of 5 stars Are you looking for a way to mount your action camera to your canoe/kayak/small boat? Look no farther than this handy little device. I'm reviewing the Scotty #135 camera/compass mount, an inexpensive, durable, and versatile little bracket that will allow you to easily set up your camera on your boat to allow you to capture some great hands-free shots while out paddling. Instead of a written review, I have put together a video review. Please check it out. Full review

Ascend Sit On Top Kayak Cart

rated 5 of 5 stars There's an easier way to move your kayak, other than picking it up and carrying it. Why not try adding some wheels? I bought a set of Ascent Sit-On-Top Kayak Cart wheels at my local Bass Pro store. These are made specifically for sit-on-top kayaks that have scupper holes to allow drainage. The two posts on the cart simply slide into the scupper holes to instantly add wheels - no straps, no clamps! I've edited together a short video review. Please have a look. Full review

Motionize SUPerior Paddle Sensor

rated 4 of 5 stars The SUPerior paddle sensor is a great tool for the novice or SUP racer to optimise paddle stroke. Used in conjunction with a Smartphone app it gives real time training information. I have been using the Motionize SUPerior paddle sensor along with their SUP smartphone app all summer and have found it to be really helpful in improving my paddle stroke and overall speed. Packaged in a small zippered case the SUPerior sensor comes with a charger plate and charging cable. Once the sensor is fully charged… Full review

Advanced Elements Rapid Up Sail

rated 4 of 5 stars When you are looking for that extra little push during a long day on the water the Advance Elements Rapid Up Sail provides. Having attached this to both a single and tandem kayak, the Rapid Up Sail can produce enjoyable speed with favorable winds. Living on the coast in SW FL, I am surrounded by water, so I spend a great deal of time paddling...both kayak and canoe. Over the years I have seen some pretty elaborate and expensive canoe/sail setups, even on kayaks...but that's not what I was looking… Full review

Duluth #3 Original Duluth Pack

rated 5 of 5 stars Great pack for canoeing. The traditional envelope type canoe packs fit in the bottom of a canoe and stack well. We have done a lot of BWCA camping over the years and canoe packs work much better than hiking packs. You can carry a lot of equipment on a canoe trip and the pack only has to be comfortable in general for portages. Frost River and Duluth Pack build great packs and for the budget conscious you can generally find them used. Full review

L.L.Bean Sit Backer Canoe Seat

rated 4 of 5 stars Yes, my somewhat indulgent, lazy paddling canoe seat! I really do like it, though, and it is nice to have on those days when I may want to recline a bit, or when I want to cinch it up and have more back support. This is actually the GCI Outdoors SitBacker Canoe seat; I do have the one with the L.L. Bean logo, since that is where I purchased it. It is the exact same seat as that sold under the GCI brand name. I purchased this canoe seat, since I often canoe at sunset, or pre-dawn, on quiet waters,… Full review

Crazy Creek Canoe Pad III

rated 2 of 5 stars My webbed canoe seat is not adjustable, and sometimes I like a bit more height, and sometimes I like a bit of padding on long trips. This canoe pad was low-priced, and was bought to replace a homemade pad I had been using. However, I found this pad to be rock hard, very uncomfortable, and I have actually replaced it with a better pad. I saw that this seat was  advertised as having 1" thick  "memory foam", and thought it might be comfortable but not too squishy. Well, the "memory foam" is only the… Full review

Cascade Creek Yakgrips

rated 4.5 of 5 stars We are reviewing the Yakgrips Comfort Kayak Paddle Grips made by Cascade Creek, designed for take-apart paddles. We use kayak paddles for solo canoeing and kayaking, and have found these grips to be an easy to use accessory, making paddling more comfortable. The company does make a grip with velcro , that can be used on solid shaft paddles. We had not gone searching for these grips, but rather stumbled upon them at a Paddlesports Show...my husband immediately realized that they could be the solution… Full review

Harmony High Volume Sea Kayak Pump

rated 5 of 5 stars This pump is used in our canoe (and sometimes kayak), for those times when we get a bit more water in the boat than a bilge sponge can easily handle! It is inexpensive, but works well without much effort, and quickly removes water from the floor of the canoe. Paddling season is just about here in Vermont, so we are engaged in our annual pre-season gear checks. One little item, that has traveled with us for the past two years, and which is holding up well, with no signs of corrosion or deterioration,… Full review
