There's little I can add to Patagonia's description of this item. In short, there IS truth in advertising. The Capilene 2 Crew is amazing!
I live in central Virginia and hike in Shenandoah National Park year round. During the colder months I don't go without my Capilene top. While everyone else is adding and shedding multiple layers trying to stay warm, get cool, or dry off, Capilene efficiently wicks away the moisture.
In practical terms what that means is that when the temperature is in the 40s-60s, this top keeps you warm but not hot. If the wind kicks up or you stop for a while, simply add a thin windbreaker. That's it. Ultralight hiking at its finest!
I've spoken to others who love theirs as much as mine, even claiming to wear theirs every day to work, shopping, or whatever.
Worth EVERY penny!
