I imagined that this balaclava wouldn't be that warm because it's so thin. I was wrong. I wear it down to -30F and enjoy skiing in it because I can breathe easily through it. Speaking of breathability, the Capilene moves moisture very well. I use this now instead of a windproof Outdoor Research balaclava. No offense against OR, but Patagonia made this so simple and efficient.
