User Review: Patagonia MixMaster Pants

Price Paid: $140
I have owned my MixMasters for 12 months now, and can't speak highly enough about them. For a tough pair of alpine climbing pants you just can't do any better for the price. The comfort and warmth provided by the R1 insulation, doubled with the soft outershell, make you question why there aren't more climbing pants like these on the market today.
I have tried a number of ski pants that just never could stand up to the abuse I gave them. I have dragged my MixMasters over some very rough alpine terrain and have yet to damage them. Even kicking a crampon into the back of your other leg (common - we all do it now and again) won't cause the pants to tear (and this is with sharpened teeth).
When I had these pants on Shivling, they very easily accommodated down pants over the top, and combined to provide an incredibly warm system for even the worst days.
If I had to find any fault with the pants, it would have to be that they aren't being produced anymore. Come on Patagonia, if Steve House gets them made especially for him, surely the public should too?
Go and buy a pair. You won't eve regret it.
