Great light jacket for cool to cold temps and as a mid layer when it is really cold. Stylish, high quality product from Patagonia that seems like it will last for years.
- Very packable
First, I want to say that I am a big fan of Patagonia gear. The quality is always excellent and I like the back to basics, no frills style of their clothing. This jacket has been on my list for a while and I finally went ahead and bought one. Once again, Patagonia did not disappoint.
This jacket is very lightweight for the warmth it provides. It works great with a light base layer as a cool weather jacket or as a mid layer when the weather gets really cold. I use it for hiking and it performed great on a recent New Year's Day hike where the temp was in the upper 30's to lower 40's range. All I had on underneath was a long sleeve Patagonia Capilene 2 shirt. I actually got a little warm with the sun shinning and took it off for a while until I cooled off again.
It also works nicely as a casual jacket around town. One really nice feature is that it packs up into one of its pockets and is great for travel.

Windproof and water-resistant, the Patagonia Nano Puff Jacket is made with warm, incredibly lightweight, highly compressible 60-g PrimaLoft Gold Insulation; ideal as outerwear, or as an insulating layer in colder climates
Wear the windproof, water-resistant Patagonia Nano Puff as an insulating or outer layer in cold climates. It's made with incredibly lightweight and compressible insulation that warms even when wet.
Take our classic Nano Puff(R) Pullover, add a full-length zipper for greater all-around ease and, presto, the Nano Puff Jacket?wear it as a sleek micro-belay parka on chilly fall rock routes or as an insulated jacket during wintertime squalls. The wind-blocking, 100% recycled polyester shell sheds moisture and glides effortlessly in your layering system. Low-bulk, hydrophobic, highly compressible PrimaLoft(R) Gold Insulation (60-g) traps heat with remarkable efficiency, even when wet. The jacket has a shaped fit and the soft, wicking interior storm flap and zipper garage adds chin comfort when zipped up. Its internal zippered chest pocket doubles as a self-stuff sack with a carabiner clip-in loop. It also has two zippered handwarmer pockets, elasticized cuffs and a dual-adjust drawcord hem to seal out wind and seal in warmth.
Spend forty years designing gear for life lived in the mountains and you too might create a jacket like the Patagonia Men's Nano Puff Hybrid Insulated Jacket. This jacket features Patagonia's Nano Puff insulation up top and its iconic R2 fleece everywhere else. Treated with a water-repellent coating, the top portion of this jacket sheds weather and warms your chest, arms, and shoulders, while R2 fleece insulation breathes away sweaty moisture, stretches, and adds a soft touch to the bottom, inside and out. You're protected from the cold and free to move about as you need to during long climbs or ski approaches, without overheating. A hybrid by definition should always be the best of both worlds, and the Nano Puff Hybrid accomplishes this in spades.
