From Altrec Outdoors:
"Our venerable SST comes in a light, soft and packable waterproof/breathable fabric originally developed for alpine climbers; it affords full stretch for unimpeded casting. But we've brought back some of the traditional features, including gusseted chest pockets: They're generous but streamlined for minimal bulk and easy, one-handed access. The right front pocket has a zippered external pocket for tippets. An internal, waterproof zippered pocket on the left front holds cell phone or camera. Reversed StretchCoat gussets seal out water at the wrists. Details: a stretch hood that folds into the collar and fits over a variety of hats, fleece-lined handwarmer pockets, abundant D-rings, a hidden rod holder and a hook-and-loop-closing back pocket with a secure flap. With a feminine contouring that still allow for layers. Imported."

From Patagonia:
"Bristol Bay, Tierra del Fuego, the Russian Arctic ? they all share three things: good fishing, bad weather and a whole lot of SST Jackets. Since its introduction, the venerable SST has continually set the standard for on-the-water weather protection. Today's version features 3-layer stretch-nylon fabric with a waterproof/breathable H2No? barrier and saltwater-compatible zippers. Streamlined chest pockets provide easy, one-handed access. A highly water-resistant interior pocket protects cell phones or a GPS. More details: brushed-fleece handwarmer pockets, a rollaway stretch hood, hidden rod holder, large hook-and-loop-closing back pocket. All exterior zippers are waterproof. Medium length (2.5" longer than the Deep Wading Jacket), with a Houdini? drawcord to shorten the length for deep wading."

User Reviews

rated 1 of 5 stars Men's Stretch SST Jacket

"This jacket fails to be useful as a wet weather fishing jacket. Water absorbent material in the sleeves and front zipper liner. Very difficult to open the zippers and when you do open them rain pours in. The goofy sleeves catch on oars, branches, fill with water when reaching into the water and flop around when you cast."
