Skinning to the tops of blizzard-blasted summits is not for the faint of heart, but with a pair of powder skis underfoot and the Patagonia Women's Triolet Pant on, you like your chances. This thin three-layer shell boasts Gore-Tex's ever-reliable waterproof, breathable membrane, and fully taped seams double down on waterproof protection by preventing a single snowflake from seeping through. Most ski shells boast the protection required for slaying the hills on or off piste, but what makes the Triolet backcountry-specific is full-length side zippers. These zippers offer easy on and off in case you need to put a knee brace on for the downhill, and they double as ventilators for hot and sweaty skin tracks. Speaking of the skinner, the pant's articulated cut includes gussets at the knees and crotch for unimpeded mobility. The boot gaiters feature a unique double-cuff design for extra coverage on those snowy trails.
If your notion of winter versatility runs from lakeshore ice crags to blizzard-blasted summits, our rugged Triolet Pants have you covered. A waterproof/breathable 3-layer GORE-TEX(R) fabric with a DWR (durable water repellent) finish protects you on exposed belay ledges, and they open up with full-separating side zips so you can vent on the go with 2-way waterproof, PU-coated zippers or put on your pants above tree line without removing your skis or boots. An articulated pattern and gusseted crotch allows ease of movement and comfort under a harness, and the waist separates with a zippered fly. Interior elasticized hook-and-loop tabs customize the fit; the welted vertical pockets have DWR-treated zippers; and the double cuff has a durable scuff guard, a separating internal gaiter (with hook-and-loop plus snap closure), gripper elastic and tie-down loops. With belt loops and a jacket attachment loop at rear.
From summit attempts to bootpacking the backcountry, the Patagonia Triolet snow pants provide bombproof weather protection in serious winter conditions, and zip down the sides for swift on-and-off.
