Summary

Got small items you need to keep safe and dry while out on the water? Look no further than this sturdy little case manufactured by Pelican.

Pros

  • Light weight
  • Extremely durable

Cons

  • Adds more bulk than a plastic self-seal bag

Pelican makes all kinds of waterproof, durable cases, perfect for transporting delicate and expensive photo/video gear. But Pelican also makes a series of smaller cases that are ideal for carrying items like cell phones, car keys, point and shoot cameras, your wallet, spare batteries, memory cards or anything else thats small.

Just like the bigger Pelican cases these units have an 'O' ring seal to keep things dry and keep out dust, sand and grit. They also have a secure 'snap' latch to keep all contents safely inside. Another interesting feature is the clear plastic lid that allows you to see at a glance just what's inside.

The Pelican 1040 Micro case is the perfect companion to take along when you're heading out in the canoe or kayak.

As far as fitting a "smartphone" inside one of these Pelican cases...no problem. I'm not familiar with the Samsung Infuse model, but we've used it with a Samsung Galaxy III, with room to spare. Inside dimensions are about 6 1/4 x 3 5/8 X 1 1/4.
