This is the third generation of Tikkas and each one keeps getting better. Any improvement on the XP will probably mean heavier batteries. For the size, weight and attributes that this headlamp has, it's perfect.
Use the energizers AAA lithium batteries which may be a little more expensive, but considerably less weight and longer lasting, together this combination would be tough to beat.
