Kammok Firebelly Trail Quilt

rated 3.5 of 5 stars Nothing like the quilts grandma used to put on her bed, the Firebelly uses modern materials and design to pack a lot of comfort into a light, small package. On the ground or in a hammock this quilt is great for those looking to reduce their three-season load in style. Low thirties and raining on a fall trip to N.H. Perfect weather for testing hydrophobic down. Kammok is an interesting company that seems to be balanced between being true gearheads and being more of what I’d call a lifestyle brand. Full review

enLIGHTened Equipment Prodigy 20°

rated 5 of 5 stars Using Climashield APEX insulation this quilt is made for cold, wet conditions that make down quilts nervous. Made to order in ten degree increments across the 20-50°F range with an attention to detail that long time quilt users will appreciate. Enlightened Equipment is well known for their down quilts, but they also offer the Prodigy which uses Climashield APEX insulation. For those who deal with very wet conditions or as is my case, extended cold weather trips, using down can be a bit nerve wracking. Full review

enLIGHTened Equipment Revelation

rated 5 of 5 stars This product is great for ultralight backpacking. It weighs nothing, packs down to nothing, and is a true three-season quilt. I find that the quilt is true to its temperature rating if you are out of the wind. Because it is a quilt, it tends to be a little drafty if you move around a lot in it. It's warmest if you sleep on your back, but I can sleep on my side and still be fully enclosed. Just be aware that if you toss and turn, you will likely expose the open underside and let in some cold air. … Full review

Vision Bedding Blanket

rated 0.5 of 5 stars Disgusting company! They took my money and never fulfilled my order. After several attempts to resolve this, I ended up having to go to my own bank to get my money. DO NOT TRUST! Full review

Kifaru Woobie

rated 5 of 5 stars Warm, lightweight, packable, and multi-use—this spin on the classic GI poncho liner is one of the best blankets/quilts I've ever used. I started looking for a lightweight, packable sleeping option for overnight hikes or for something I could use around the house in the winter. I'm a fan of durable, hard use gear and familiar with Kifaru's excellent packs. I stumbled upon a discussion on the Woobie, which is Kifaru's take on the classic GI poncho liner that has been so popular with our armed forces,… Full review

Eagles Nest Outfitters Ember 2

rated 5 of 5 stars A high quality, well engineered, lightweight, reasonably priced solution for keeping warm and cozy during cool nights in a hammock. Highly recommended for backpackers, cyclists, and rowers desiring a warm and comfortable multi-season hammock sleep experience. I am new to hammock camping after vowing to no longer crawl around on the ground and suffer the slings and arrows of rocks, twigs, bumps, lumps, uneven terrain, sore backs, and floods intruding on my former ground sleeping experience. Hammock… Full review

Snugpak Insulated Jungle Travel Blanket

rated 5 of 5 stars It did exactly what I wanted it to. It provided a small package and a nice, big, perfect temp and performance item. It can be kept in the car for a blanket to lie on or watch the stars or used sitting around on those chilly nights around the campfire or even by the fireplace. The uses are endless. I had seen the previous post and I already am a fan of Snugpak and own the jungle bag. Well, I found one for $24.50 and to be honest just needed a temporary blanket for my bed, so why not? It was instant… Full review

Double Black Diamond

rated 4.5 of 5 stars Lightweight, inexpensive down throw, can be converted into many things—a DIY dream. The Double Black Diamond quilt is the brand name of the "Costco Quilt" that people talk about in the DIY forums. I received two of these as a gift. From what I understand Costco sells them from anywhere from $20 to $35 depending on the year, and apparently they aren't always available. I had them bookmarked on Amazon for around $50, but they are also showing up as currently unavailable.   This is a light, rectangular… Full review

HammockGear Incubator 20°

rated 4.5 of 5 stars Lightweight for its warmth, this is the cornerstone of my hammock insulation system. The Hammock Gear Incubator 20 is my primary hammock insulation. I've had mine a year. It's been out over 40 nights, car camping, overnight backpacking, and several 2-5 night backpacking trips. It's seen temps from the 80s to the single digits, in all kinds of conditions here in the Midwest. Down quilts are lighter compared to synthetic quilts and more comfortable than closed cell and inflatable pads. If you are… Full review
