Try the new Red Ledge 2009 Allegory rain parka ,you won't be disappointed, indeed having in the past used their reputed rainrange parka like the unlined Summit Parka, this one has some new design improvements as grey inside polyester mesh and taffeta lined protections plus taped seams a new outside soft to the touch Dupont Tactel nylon fabric coated and breathable with DWR repellent finish to let the rain slide.
It has reinforcement ripstop nylon areas in elbows and bottom. A long front zip closed with 4 velcros and a snap button down,a very good attached hood with visor. Underarm pit zips and 2 sides oblique front pockets. Elastic+ velcros cuffs. Adjustable from the pockets drawcords waist and bottom elastics.A large tab to fold the hood with velcro and a big inside pocket to fold it inside. It exist in red, light blue, forest green, and white.
I used it mostly in town with light rain and in windies seaside places. After several trials I conclude this parka is very good as spring and summer windstopper but not for long heavy downpour. A good backpacking parka mostly for versatile light uses.
Also a Large size in the past (Summit Parka) makes equivalent today to an X Large with this one.
