Comments about REI Adventure Dog Water Bowl - 9 Inch:

I bought this for my backpacking buddy (100 lb German Shepherd, 7 years old). It worked GREAT! I alternated for food and water, and it stayed stable on any surface (dirt, rock, unlevel, etc), and more importantly, it retained a functional height.

For food, I had to tilt it a bit so she could get into the crevices, but it's also not a food bowl (plus I didn't mind.) The ability to compress it was helpful, as I could stow it in her pack instead of my own! This would also be good to keep in the car as a standby.

Bottom Line Yes, I would recommend this to a friend.
