I recently purchased the Ridgeline backpack for a overnight backpacking adventure in Anza Borrego Desert State Park. The pack was incredibly comfortable during my whole experience at the park. I easily could of accommodated more items in the pack if I were going on an extended 2 or 3 day backpacking adventure. Nonetheless, the pack was super comfortable.

I really like the fact the pack contains zippers on the outside of the pack giving you the ability to open the sack from the outside without trying to dig through the pack from the top of the pack. If you want a good backpack be it for starters or guru backpackers I'd highly suggest this pack.

Here's what other sites are saying:

Get the best of both worlds! This multiday REI Ridgeline technical pack offers light weight, durability and full-featured hiking comfort. Perimeter-style, lightweight tubular aluminum frame provides structure without restricting movement; plus, it keeps pack weight low. ActivMotion(TM) hipbelt pivots as you move, delivering a balanced load by letting it remain centered and stable as you move over unstable terrain. Molded-foam lumbar pad and patented Delrin(R) rod hipbelt construction redirect weight out of lumbar area and onto the hips, distributing it evenly. Features dual access: top-loading and a water-resistant J-shaped zippered panel-loading design give multiple points of access to contents. Molded-foam back panel is designed to improve body contact comfort, with channels for air circulation to keep your back cool and dry. A rip-and-stick torso adjustment lets you dial in a precise fit for a variety of torso lengths. Anatomic shoulder straps and hipbelt offer stability and comfort. Inner sleeve with hanging toggles option holds your hydration reservoir (sold separately); dual ports allow tube to route over either shoulder. Zippered top pocket, zippered side pockets and twin mesh side pockets let you store small items for quick access. Features a map pocket underneath lid and front stretch-mesh stash pocket. Top, bottom and side compression straps also double as tool attachment points for quick lashing of trekking poles and ice axes. 630-denier nylon construction provides high abrasion resistance with low weight; polyurethane coating supplies weather resistance. Special buy.
