REI Single Shot

One day I suddenly realized that a canteen style water belt would be a great idea for day hikes in the summer when you don't really need a day pack but carrying water and maybe some other small thing would be great. I soon found this item at REI.

I had originally intended to get the Double Shot but this one appealed to me in the store. One bottle carries plenty of water and the pocket, while maybe slightly smaller than the double version, opens much more easily and wider. I found this to be comfortable to wear and easy to shift the load around. I move it from left to right to center regularly which is easy because the load is a small area that can rest comfortably in different positions. I figured the Double Shot would not be as flexible.

Only gripe would be the pocket could have been a little bigger. As it is it's only good for a sandwich or camera.

Otherwise excellent minimalist utility carrier that doesn't make you feel like you've got a giant buttpack on.
