I got one these waistpacks for my wife a few years ago because she wanted something to carry her waterbottle on her long runs without it being too heavy or bulky. She loved it so much that I got one for myself.
We have the older versions with the bungee cord crisscrossing front of the pack. We use it for running, day hiking, and mountain biking. It's the perfect size. It's compact enough that it doesn't get in the way.
The zippered pack it just the right size for a cell phone, car keys, and a MP3 player. My 21 oz. Camelbak Podium Chill insulated bottle fits perfectly in the holster. The small stretch mesh pockets are good for holding change or a spare battery for the MP3.
We use ours almost daily and have no complaints.
