From REI:
"Coming into view--the brand new REI Vista! This daypack is ideal for day hikes, picnics, camera stuff or cruising around campus. Whether carrying your 10 Essentials, camera equipment or books, the panel-loading design makes it a cinch to access your gear. Internal sleeve accommodates the hydration reservoir of your choice; dual exit ports allow drinking tube to be routed on either side of pack. Side water bottle pockets allow convenient, on-the-go hydration, (water bottles sold separately). Front pocket features a key-keeper clip and an organizer for pencils, pens, wallet, sunglasses and other essentials. Foam-padded, curved shoulder straps feature a sternum strap and extra foam for neck comfort while carrying the load. Tuck-away sculpted waistbelt features a padded, self-equalizing hip cinch and a large fit range for comfortable carrying. Mesh ''cockpit'' pocket on waistbelt provides a handy place for frequently accessed items such as sunscreen, lipbalm or snacks. Side compression straps let you cinch down loads for jostle-free carrying. Daisy chain for lashing on bulky gear; single ice axe loop stows away when not in use, tucking away into bottom slot with hook-and-loop closure. High-density polyurethane (HDPE) framesheet and a single aluminum stay protect your back from bulky or pointy items and support heavy loads."

"This pack worked pretty well for me. I used it for dayhikes and as a bookbag occasionally for school. It didn't fit quite as much as I would have liked, especially with a full 2-liter water bladder in the built-in pocket. It does have two side pockets for water bottles, which is a nice feature, but I found them a little hard to reach."

"It is very unfortunate that they no longer make this model backpack, or evidently anything similar.

The REI Vista backpack is one of the few small backpacks with side pockets that are big enough to carry a normal water bottle. Most other small packs have elastic side pockets that seem to be designed to carry a map or something."
