It is a very comfortable boot. The Gore-Tex membrane protects the cold very well. Its weight may not be optimal, but it is useful in high mountain expeditions and automatic crampons.

Retailers' Descriptions

Here's what other sites are saying:

The Salomon Ice Light GTX mountaineering boot is a minimalist mountaineer's dream come true. Designed to be super light, waterproof, and supportive. The Salomon Advanced Chassis system reduces fatigue by stabilizing your foot inside the Ice Light. The low to the ground construction also aids stability, especially when wearing crampons. Welded construction, an inner bootie liner, and a Gore-Tex membrane blocks cold and moisture, while rubber randing, toe, and heel caps keep your feet safe from ice and rocks. Lace locking hardware ensures once you've laced up the Ice Light, you won't have to worry about them until it's time to take them off back at base camp. The Ice Light fits all standard crampons.
