Very comfy, supports the foot well, 3/4 shank stiffened--great for scrambling. I haven't yet tried them with crampons but the thick suede uppers are sure to prevent the straps from digging into my feet. Only niggle is that all the rubber (which protects the boot and the foot in scree and while scrambling) will affect their breathability. Don't know how well they will last, not having owned them very long, but they appear good and do their purpose well.
