User Review: Salomon Solaris Low

Salomon Solaris Low
Above: The current Solaris Low, which may differ slightly from the version reviewed.

Rating: rated 3 of 5 stars
Materials: leather
Use: level hikes, no downhill
Break-in Period: About a week
Weight: very light
Price Paid: $70

I would give this shoe 5 stars for fit, but 2 stars for traction. I find the sole is not aggressive enough, and the front part of the sole is directional, meaning it provides good traction if you want to go forward/uphill, but poor traction if you are going downhill. The shoe is comfortable around town, but I wouldn't trust it much for anything more than that. It does however, look fantastic. I've gotten many compliments on how this show looks. If that's important to you, well then this is your shoe.
