Salomon stripped down the already light trail running shoes by using a mesh upper to trim the SpeedCross 2's weight to a lean, race-ready 11 ounces. However, that doesn't mean that Salomon did away with cushioning or stability. Salomon's Cushioning System puts cushioning material in the heel to reduce heel strike impact, high-density foam in the arch to control pronation, and elastic material in the forefoot for a dynamic push-off.
