The Super Mountain 8 has been discontinued. If you're looking for something new, check out the best backpacking boots for 2024.

I love these boots. I am on my second pair, my first pair lasted two years wearing them as everyday shoes. The first time wearing them they are a little stiff on the ankle but it goes away after about 3-4 hours of wear. I run a newspaper route in them and they work great on ice, dirt, rocks, and everywhere else taken them.

Use: everyday use, and treking of trail
Break-in Period: 1 day
Price Paid: $89.99

Superb trail boot if a bit stiff for light trail. excellent with c2 , harsh break in slight blister first time use, suggest wander around house for a couple of hours. difficult to get used to because of the stiff sole but once mastered are great , unbelievably comfy top boots

Paid £100 for them but would pay £130 .

I have been looking for years for a boot that would double as a glacier/crampon compatable and an approach boot! These are the boots. You do not have to look any farther! One boot does do it all. With no break in. Try them if you can find them and then buy two pairs.

Materials: leather
Use: mountaineering or rough trailw/heavy pack
Break-in Period: None!
Weight: 3.5lbs
Price Paid: $200

Just too stiff -- painful, blisters. I cannot walk for more than two hours downward or upward -- tried many times with different socks with no change! for me absolutely not recommended!

Use: rough trail on eastern alps
Price Paid: 100€
